Trek PreCaliber 20 kids bike
Description
Got this Trek PreCaliber 20 for my son, and he’s been riding it every day since. It’s in really good shape — just had new pedals and a fresh rear tyre, so it’s ready to go right out of the box. The 20” wheels are a bit chunky, but it handles well for a kid bike. It’s got the classic kids’ suspension, threadless steerer, and that 35mm travel — not too fancy, but plenty of room for growth.I’ve kept it simple with the Shimano Tourney gears and a SunRun freewheel (14-28), and the crank’s a solid ProWheel alloy with a 32T ring. The stem’s Bontrager-approved, 15-degree rise, and the whole thing’s built from Alpha Silver aluminium — solid, not flashy.
It’s got the full kit: alloy wheels, Schrader valves, handlebar with 40mm rise, and both front and rear brakes are alloy linear-pull. The seat post is padded and integrated, which is nice for little riders.
I’ve used it a bit, but not heavily — just regular rides around the park and local trails. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable and has been a lot of fun for him.
Old-Colwyn, Conwy — it’s just a quick ride from where I live. If you’re a parent looking for a sturdy, well-built bike for a growing kid, this might be the one. Price is £148.50 — happy to chat if you’re interested.
