2018 Mini Cooper D 1.5 Diesel 5-door Hatchback
Description
So, I’ve been keeping this Mini Cooper D for a few years now — it’s actually one of the few cars I’ve owned that I still actually enjoy driving. It’s a 2018 model, diesel, 1.5L, five doors, manual gearbox — and honestly, it’s surprisingly efficient. I’ve got it down to 72.43mpg combined, and CO2’s at 99g/km, so it’s not flashy, but it’s a real workhorse. The outside is Midnight Black with 15-inch alloy wheels — the heli silver ones are a bit of a personal touch, and they don’t look too flashy. Inside, it’s Firework Cloth in Carbon Black, which gives it a bit of a modern edge without being too loud. I like how the seats feel — it’s not plush, but it’s solid, and the six-way driver’s seat has proper manual adjustments.
I use the manual air conditioning a lot — it’s not fancy, but it’s reliable. I also keep the DAB tuner and Bluetooth hands-free going, so I can make calls without taking my hands off the wheel. There’s a 12V socket in the front console too, which I use for charging when I’m on the go.
Parking’s easier than I thought — the rear PDC helps a lot when I’m squeezing into tight spots. And yeah, there’s a lot of little things that make it feel more complete: heated mirrors, heated rear window, LED fog lights, a roof spoiler, and that little MINI Central Display with the illuminated ring.
I’ve had it serviced regularly, and it’s been kept in good shape — no major damage, just the normal wear and tear. The only thing I’m not keen on is the fact that the fuel saving tech isn’t as noticeable as it sounds, but it does help with the daily commute.
I’ve lived in Penicuik, Midlothian for a few years now, so it’s been a local car, and I’ve actually driven it quite a bit around the area. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, practical, and just about the only car I’ve kept for more than a year.
It’s worth mentioning it’s currently priced at £6,291 — I didn’t expect to sell it so soon, but it’s just one of those things that you don’t want to miss out on.
If you’re interested, I’m happy to chat or meet up — no pressure, just a real conversation about whether it’d work for you. I’m based in Penicuik, Midlothian, so it’s easy to get to.
