Got this Jetta back in 2007 when I was still getting used to city driving, and I’ve actually kept it pretty much as-is since. It’s a 1.9-liter TDI diesel, which I’ve always liked because of how efficient it is — I remember hitting over 50 mpg on a few long drives. The build’s solid, typical VW reliability, and the interior’s comfy with cloth seats, CD player, all electric windows, and cruise control. It’s not the most flexible on bumpy roads, especially in town — the suspension gives a bit of a firm feel, but that’s more of a personal thing. Safety features are there: ESP, airbags, anti-lock brakes. The trunk’s decent at 527 liters, and the rear seats fold down in a 60/40 split, so it’s still useful for weekend trips or carrying things around. I’ve had it for years, done a few minor repairs, and it’s been mostly quiet and reliable. It’s in Chislehurst, London Borough of Bromley, and I’m just looking to get rid of it now. Price is £1,170 — I’ve had it for a while, so it’s not flashy, but it works well and I’ve kept it in good shape.
