Description

So, I’ve got a 2024 Ford Transit Connect 220 Trend diesel van here – it’s a 24 reg, and it’s been through an insurance claim. Front and side damage, mostly. It starts up and moves around, which is good for a quick look – but don’t expect it to be perfect or road-ready.

It’s a salvage vehicle, so no VAT on the price, and it’s been stored with a few others like this. The info on the site or in listings might not be 100% accurate – I’d definitely recommend checking it yourself before you commit.

I’m based in Prestonpans, East Lothian, so if you’re coming over, just give me a shout. I’ll try to get you in at a time that works. I’ve got Shaun and Dave on the phone – either of them can help you out. Office number is 0115 9300505, open Monday to Saturday 9am–4pm, Sundays by appointment.

If you’re thinking about buying it, I’d really suggest you bring a mechanic or someone who knows cars to take a proper look. I can’t give any warranty on the condition – it’s strictly sold as seen.

The vehicle’s been through an insurance claim, so it might show clear on HPI at times, but remember – all of these eventually get recorded on HPI. Some have had claims before, so double-check that.

Also, this isn’t something you can drive on public roads until it’s fully repaired and meets all legal standards. A MOT doesn’t mean it’s safe to drive – it might have been damaged after the test. If you go ahead, you’ll need a new MOT once it’s fixed.

The "starts and moves" part is just for loading and checking – it doesn’t mean the engine or gearbox are in great shape. I’m not saying it’s in great condition, just that it works enough to get it out of the yard.

I’m happy to help with the reg or VIN numbers if you want to check them – just give me a call.

All payments can be made via debit card, bank transfer, or cash – cash at site or bank (with a 2% fee). Bank transfer is my preferred method.

Deposits are non-refundable – that’s just how it is with salvage vehicles.

If you don’t pick it up by the agreed date, I’ll keep it and resell it.

No second-hand parts like spare wheels, parcel shelves, or sat nav maps are guaranteed – they’ve been stored elsewhere before we took them in.

And yeah, I’d really recommend not relying on the pictures or the listings – go in, see it, check it.

If you’re interested, just give me a ring. I’m not selling it to anyone who doesn’t actually look it over.

— Just a real person with a van that’s been through the wringer. Hope it’s useful for you.
