So, I’ve had this 2004 Volvo S40 for a few years now and honestly, it’s been a solid workhorse. It’s a petrol automatic, which I love – no fiddling with the gear stick, just smooth and quiet. I’ve kept it well looked after and it’s got almost full service history up to date, which is a big plus.

It’s not flashy, but it’s got the basics covered: cruise control, climate control, front fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a decent radio with aux and CD. The interior’s been maintained, and the seats are still comfortable after just over 132k miles – for a car of its age, that’s not bad.

I’ve also got the 99 admin fee covered (it’s a small one, just a one-off), and the car comes with a full set of safety features including pretensioner seat belts.
