Description
6th Sep, 2025 11:00 The September 2025 Car Auction 1950 Jaguar MK V 3.5 Litre Saloon A very rare find in this condition Estimate £15,000 - £17,000 Buyer's Premium: 12.50% of hammer with a minimum charge of £600.00 plus VAT Lot details Registration: KTX 999 Chassis: 625913 Odometer: 47,000 Transmission: Manual MOT: Exempt A very nice looking example Lots of money spent it Only showing 3 previous owners One for the collector Here’s something you don’t see very often, a Jaguar MK V. This is an early example from 1950, produced when the name Jaguar was in its infancy, and is finished in dark blue with grey leather and blue carpets. It is in rather good condition with good chrome, and even has a sunroof from new - something you don’t see very often and some would say many later Jaguars didn’t even have them! The Jaguar presents very well, but as you would expect there are always things to do to improve it. Or maybe you would leave it as it is with its great patina. It even has the white wall tyres that look really well and set it off a treat. The vendor has told us that a lot of money has gone into this Saloon - somewhere in the region of £110,000 - and in many ways you can see that. The boot area is in fine fettle, and clean and tidy, and the engine bay is in stunning condition with a lot of attention to detail having been lavished on it, you can see how tidy it is and many new parts are evident. The paperwork is equally as impressive, with bills and receipts going back over many years, as well as older MOTs and tax discs. We also have a selection of parts handbooks and manuals, electric circuit maps and details from the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club. Before you view in person, take some time to understand what it is and what a part it plays in the history of Jaguar and the British motoring history. This is a must for the Jaguar collector, a very rare find indeed, especially in this condition.
